Have you been feeling the winter doldrums lately? We have, and find ourselves craving some color! Today is Valentine’s Day, and we thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite interiors with rich hues of crimson and soft rose. You too can incorporate these colors into your home -- go big with tile or paint, or maybe just a punch of color on a piece of furniture with an accessory or two. Be bold!

We’ve also been thinking, what better way to celebrate than with some girlfriends?! Remember our mothers’ wise words when we were younger and heartbroken over our recent crush: “Boys will come and go, but girlfriends are for life.” Through the years, we see what they meant; our relationships with the women in our lives are some of the strongest. We give each other love, empathy, generosity, humor, and so much more. What would we do without our girlfriends? Our D|B team is all women, and we don’t know how we would do what we do without each other!

PINK TILE: HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT?

We are obsessed with zellige tiles, particularly these handmade ones in soft shades of rose and pink. Look at these gorgeous bathrooms! We think adding a little color like this is beautiful, especially in a guest bathroom or powder room. Bold color is a good thing! Here are some of our favorite images showcasing pops of color in various ways. Maybe add some paint to your walls, or reupholster a chair, sofa or headboard in a rich hue of crimson or mauve? This is not for the faint of heart, but take risks … life is too short to not “go boldly!”

Want to incorporate some color into your decor? Do it with the little things! This is pretty easy to do, and not a big deal if you change your mind in a couple of months. Which, hey, a girl is allowed to do!
