Anne mastalir
founder + lead designer

Anne’s unwavering passion for design has been unfolding for the past 19 years, resulting in a diverse skill set and her signature ‘organic-modern’ aesthetic. Her roots in house-flipping allowed for exploration of her own creative depths, all the while being met with the challenge of producing a beautiful product on a tight budget.

In 2013, after stints of living in some of the most design-forward cities in the country–LA, San Francisco, NYC and Portland–Anne moved to Bend, OR. Her wanderlust soul finds inspiration in global architecture and art. From the mosques of Istanbul to the riads of Marrakech to the patina of crumbling frescos, Anne sees the beauty in old-world character and pairs it with modern sensibilities.

Equipped with a BS in Business from Pepperdine and years of design experience, Anne founded Design Bar in 2020 and continues to lead a disruptive design firm with a soul. She is also the dedicated single mom of two beautiful teenagers and two crazy pets.

ANNIE KOEPKE
Designer

Annie grew up in a very artistic and creative community in Sedona, Arizona. Her childhood visits to the nearby Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village sparked her interest in design, and she fell in love with the way nature was incorporated into the aesthetic of the buildings. These days, Annie loves to incorporate organic textures, colors and patterns into her own designs.

At Northern Arizona University, Annie attended school and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design and Event Management. Bend’s natural beauty and endless activities drew her to the area. She feels so lucky to have found her place at Design Bar, working alongside an amazingly talented and dedicated team!

Annie’s aesthetic is organic and modern, incorporating rich textures and inviting colors. She loves combining beauty with a ‘wow’ factor, while maintaining functionality and comfort.

Her favorite feature of her own home (or any interior space) is natural light and big windows. In her free time, Annie loves skiing, yoga and traveling with her friends and family.

Stephanie Erickson
BUSINESS MANAGER

Stephanie has over 20 years of experience working for non-profits in the areas of fundraising and event planning. Her all-time favorite event she planned was a clambake for 700 people, held on a beach in Massachusetts! Stephanie has a BA in Business Administration from Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois. She loves all things design and loves being a part of the Design Bar team!

When not in Bend, Stephanie can be found in Hawaii with her family. She loves swimming, running and biking.

SARAH Douglass
Project Manager

Sarah worked for a decade in the non-profit sector as a program manager prior to starting a family.  In 2005, she moved to Bend with her husband and two young children.  She spent over 12 years volunteering for her kids’ K-8 school in many different capacities, including organizing major fundraising events and serving on the school’s board.  She loves being a part of the team at Design Bar, which she joined in 2021.

Sarah graduated from Colorado College with a Bachelor of Arts degree and a major in Religious Studies.  In her free time she enjoys hiking, spending time outdoors with family and friends, hanging with her dogs and traveling.

Kate Jones
Designer

Nearly a true Central Oregon native, Kate moved to a ranch in Powell Butte at age nine and knows mountain sunsets and sagebrush as home. She has an affinity for the High Desert and draws creative inspiration from its particular beauty.

After years of practicing massage therapy, Kate took time off through the pandemic to homeschool her daughter and three nieces. With her daughter about to attend school, she decided to make a career shift and found Design Bar at the perfect time. Kate is thrilled to be part of the Design Bar team, exploring more creative passions and working alongside a team of incredible women.

She loves living in beautiful Bend with her husband, daughter and two dogs. When she isn’t at work, you can find Kate knitting, playing cribbage, drinking tea and going to bed at a sensible hour.
